According to a report in the Medical Letters, a new study published in Breastfeeding Medicine published by the Breastfeeding Medical Association’s official magazine found that women who breastfeed for more than 6 months had lower breast cancer death rates. In the new study, Dr. Margaret Luft Johansen of Linköping University in Sweden, Dr. Lars Bludin and Dr. Marisquinquist and Carl Edward Rudbeck of Tromso University in Norway Dr. conducted a 20-year follow-up of a group of patients with primary breast cancer undergoing surgery. The survey included breastfeeding experiences and duration of female patients participating in the trial as well as postoperative breast cancer mortality and overall mortality
