In 1644, Manchu replaced the rule of the Ming dynasty. Although this dynasty has had a profound and far-reaching impact on the Chinese society and people, the sudden political changes have not completely changed the daily life of the Chinese people. We should realize that many porcelain workers during Shunzhi (1644-1661) lived in the Chongzhen period of the late Ming Dynasty (1628-1644).
