鼠害猖獗,对农业生产和城乡人民生活造成很大威胁。198年,九江市开始鼠情调查和防治试验,1983年发动群众灭鼠,在近70万亩农田上,投放鼠药约8千斤,消灭害鼠约420万只,等于从鼠口夺回4千万斤粮食。根据我市三年来同鼠害作斗争的经验,笔者试将农田鼠害及其防治方法总结如下。鼠种与分布根据我市农业与卫生部门三年来所捕获的害鼠分类统计,我市住宅及野外分布的鼠种共有12种,分属于二目三科六属。它们是黑线姬鼠、褐家鼠、针毛鼠、社鼠、黄胸鼠、大足鼠、小家鼠、黄毛鼠、屋顶、鼠黑腹绒鼠、水鼩青、臭鼩青。其中农田捕获较多有黑线姬鼠、褐家鼠、针毛鼠、黄胸鼠、黄毛鼠、屋顶鼠6种。
