Tumor angiogenesis plays an important role in the occurrence, development, metastasis, and prognosis of solid tumors, and it also has a profound impact on guiding treatment. Through the quantitative counting of microvessels in colorectal cancer tissues, it is found that microvessel counts are significantly correlated with the metastasis and survival rate of colorectal cancer patients, and it is a valuable independent prognostic factor. It is believed that the quantitative counting of microvessels in colorectal cancer tissue can reflect the angiogenesis of tumors, and has great application value in judging the prognosis of cancer, screening high-risk relapsed or metastatic patients, and guiding treatment. This article reviews the methods of microvessel quantification in colorectal cancer, the relationship between microvessel counts and the metastasis and prognosis of colorectal cancer.
