以功亲1号为母本与云粳9号杂交,再在其杂交后代中,按系谱法经过多年选育成红米新品系功米1号。多点试验表明,其产量可达6508.5~11095.5 kg/hm2,较抗稻瘟病和白叶枯病。营养成分分析表明,其糙米Ca含量达254 mg/kg,是普通米的1.5倍,还富含Fe、Zn和抗性淀粉,既是食用营养保健米,也是加工红色保健食品的理想原料。该品系植株高大,生长势强,在贫瘠土壤也能栽培收获,属大穗型,适宜在云南省海拔1000~1850m稻区种植。已向农业部申请植物新品种权保护。
