In the latter half of the 19th century, a large-scale mining development movement was launched in the western mountains of the United States. The upsurge of economic development lasted for nearly half a century. In this process, not only economic and geographical areas characterized by mining production but also the economic and social characteristics of the mining development areas have emerged because of the deep development of mining production in the capitalist mode of production. The dual process of mining development in its breadth and depth has not only promoted the social and economic development in the western region but also the entire United States, but also has far-reaching political and cultural impact.
