四川东北部,江云的家乡。村子的大院子里有一棵参天大树,一位老爷爷。夏日,大树如一把巨大的伞,村里人都来到大树底下乘凉,大家都爱听老爷爷讲故事,《说岳传》中的“岳飞精忠报国”,《三国演义》中的“桃园三结义”,《水浒》中的“梁山好汉”......少年江云特别喜欢听,如痴如醉,甚至抢着给老爷爷干活,条件只有一个:老爷爷再讲个故事。江云这个农家子弟,少年时便潜移默化地接受了爱国主义和英雄主义教育,并心怀“报国之志”。
