初中《中国历史》课本第二册,第十六页的插图——《突厥文和汉文的阙特勤碑》,是现在发现最早、保存较好、字数最多的突厥文碑.它不仅记述了突厥族的一些历史,而且生动地反映了突厥族和唐朝的密切关系.阙特勤碑是公元732年(唐玄宗开元二十年)突厥汗国苾伽可汗为纪念其亡弟阙特勤的功勋而建立的.树碑地点在于都斤山(亦称郁督军山或乌德鞬山)蕊伽可汗宫东面鄂尔浑河右岸(今蒙古人民共和国鄂尔浑河流域和硕·柴达木湖畔).碑用大理石制成.俄国伊尔库次克地理学会探险队领导人雅德林采夫于1889年发现此碑.碑文分突厥文和汉文两部分:正面(东面)及左右
