Objective: To investigate the value of Tissue Doppler Tei index in the evaluation of right ventricular function in patients with high altitude heart disease. Methods: 54 cases of patients with heart disease were divided into mild, moderate and severe systolic blood pressure according to the degree of pulmonary systolic pressure. Eighteen patients were in each group, and 18 cases in control group. Echocardiography Doppler (TDI) was used to measure isovolumic isotope systolic (ICT), isovolumic relaxation (IRT), ejection time (ET) and Tei index at RVFW at the apical four- . Results: There were significant differences in Tei-RVFW between the four groups (P <0.05 or P <0.01). Compared with the control group, the ICT and IRT in all patients with CPHD were significantly increased (P <0.05 or P <0.01), ET significantly decreased compared with the control group. Conclusion: The TDI technique can accurately and sensitively reflect the right ventricular function in patients with high altitude heart disease.
