In the invention, a certain number of variable magnetic moment magnets are towed by the mine sweeping ship to simulate the magnetic field of the ship so as to achieve the purpose of demining. Each magnet is individually supplied with electric current to form magnetic fields that are orthogonal to each other, so as to accurately simulate the magnetic field of the ship. The length of a single magnet of such a demining system is independent of the length of the ship being simulated.
