December 21, 1989 to December 25 CNR held in Beijing, “China’s RTV Science, Technology and Continuing Education Course Seminar.” This meeting is hosted by the Central Radio and Television University in 1989 - 1990 UNESCO educational cooperation project. In 1988, UNESCO successfully organized an Asia-Pacific symposium of similar nature in Colombo, Sri Lanka. As a follow-up to the Colombo Conference, the UNESCO Asia-Pacific Head Office actively recommended and funded the meeting of the Central Radio & TV Station.
