A new robust regression method was developed for the analysis of the overlapped absorption spectra of the dibromo-p-methylazomethanesulfonate (DBM-MSA) complex with lead and cerium complexes. The simultaneous determination of lead by spectrophotometry And cerium. The results of BP neural network algorithm (ANN-BP) applied to this system are compared with the new robust regression method, which shows that the two methods are suitable for the simultaneous determination of lead and cerium with satisfactory results.
