Funds for Basic Health Services for Floating Population Included in the “Report on the Development of China’s Floating Population 2014” recently released by the Financial State Health and Family Planning Commission. According to the “Report”, by the end of 2013, the total number of floating population in the country was 245 million, more than 1/6 of the total population. According to Wang Qian, director of the Department of Floating Population of the National Health and Family Planning Commission, at the end of 2013, the National Health and Family Planning Commission started the pilot project on the equalization of basic public services for migrant health and family planning, which has been running for nearly a year now. At present, 40 cities in our country have started pilot projects and are committed to promoting the reform of the household registration system.
