The world’s first duck hatch outside China was successfully researched in China. On April 7, 1993, the world’s first hatched duckling was born in the laboratory of Beijing Agricultural University. Its researcher is 35-year-old Li Zandong. So far, no one in the world has broken eggshells and hatched ducks from the liquid in the duck’s eggshell. This study enabled people to clearly observe the nutritional status of ducks during hatching, and the effects of drugs, radiation, and congenital diseases on embryonic development. If we can introduce benign genes such as disease resistance and yield increase during the embryonic period, the production of ducks in the future will make a big leap forward.
