Researchers at Seoul National University got inspiration from beetle wings and developed a flexible electronic sensor that captures the soft footsteps of a ladybug while walking, as well as the shear and torsional forces of human beings . It can also be strapped to the wrist and used as a heart rate monitor. The 29th issue of Nature Materials describes sensor design.
