In my writing, I encountered five major problems: What do you know about unfamiliar subjects? Subjects and writers are like wood and carpenters (this metaphor may not be appropriate). There are no rich and varied themes, and the content of the works must be limited. My nib touched the wall in this area. Before the war of resistance, I left the city, lived in the countryside, and had more contact with the farmers. I knew more about their lives, their habits, their thoughts, their feelings, their pain, their hopes, and the sinister, insipid, and poisonous nature of the landlords.... Most of the works at that time were written in rural subjects. At the time, when he saw the “Beidou” and “Literature Monthly” ... and other left-wing publications, there were works that described the lives of workers, and they also recognized the greatness of the working class and the revolution.
