The purpose of this paper is to develop a new structural system for discontinuous shear wallboard that uses the same amount of material as a normal continuous shear wall frame structure, and the wallboard can also be considered symmetrically. This provides designers with the flexibility to choose an appropriate system to meet any special needs economically.
