Aim: Total flavones of rhododendra (TFR) is a powerful antioxidant which is isolated from the traditional Chinese herb rhododendra. However, little is known regarding TFRs protective mechanism in ischemia/reperfusion (I/R) injury.TFR may have a beneficial role for neurons in cerebral ischemia/reperfusion caused by accident. We therefore observed the protective effects of TFR on neurons injured by ischemia/reperfusion in vitro and in vivo and explored the underlying mechanisms.
