Purpose Colorectal cancer (CRC) is the third most frequent cancer diagnosed in men and women worldwide and often has a poor treatment outcome with more than thirty percent cases died from the disease.Previous literatures have elucidated that many proteins and the related pathways, such as RAS, APC, and Wnt/β-catenin pathway, contribute to the development of colorectal cancer, but there are still many unclear points.GLI1 and FOXM1 are two different transcription factors over-expressed in many kinds of tumors frequently, and act as oncoproteins in the process of tumorigenesis. The aim of this study was to investigate the functions and relationship of GLI1 and FOXM1 in the pathogenic processes of colon cancer.
