人类在地球上的活动,创造出了一个全新的物质世界,人类创造世界的基本活动主要是两种:搬运物料和加工物料。人类进行这两种基本活动的手段就是工具和机器。本文通过列举一些重要的,有里程碑意义的机器的发明过程,说明人类是怎样用机器来改变世界的,并进一步说明人类文明的创造是和机器所进行的改变世界的活动密不可分的。
Human activities on Earth have created a brand new material world. There are basically two basic human activities for creating the world: handling and processing materials. The means by which humans perform these two basic activities are the tools and machines. This article illustrates how human beings changed their world with machines by citing the invention of important, landmark machines, and further illustrates that the creation of human civilization is inextricably linked with the world-changing activities of machines.
