There are a large number of syllable words in the Sino-Tibetan language family. It can be said that all the common characters of the syllables in the Sino-Tibetan language family are all common features. Both Chinese and Thai are analytic languages lacking morphological changes. Languages lacking morphological changes are more likely to produce four-syllable than morphologically rich languages. Thai belongs to the Zhuang-Dong ethnic group of the Sino-Tibetan language family, and there are abundant four-syllable words in the Thai language. This article will compare the syllable words of Chinese and the four-syllable words of Thai in three aspects from the syllable types, phonetic features and structural forms of the syllable words.
