分数线是高校志愿填报的三大参考数据之一。它对正确填报志愿至关重要。分数线的估测又是升学科研前沿的一大难题。本文提出一种便捷、准确的计算方法──水平比较法，并根据广西情况列出计算示例二则。“水平比较法”估测某科类某批次分数线的思路是：假设所研究的地（市）当年上线人数占全区上线数的比例与某年相同。在此前提下，首先利用被比较年度的统计数字计算出该年度该地（市）上线数占全省（区）的百分比；然后利用当年全区该批次的实有指标数乘以上述百分数；并考虑与被比较年度相同的余量得出当年当地（市）该批次应上线人数；最后比照当年该地（市）该科类按分数段统计的估分统计表，找出上述上线数所在的估分分数区段，并计出与该上线数对应的分数，这个分数值便是所估测的分数线。即使招生政策有所变化，但作为方法论，这种思路仍然是普遍适用的。
