Med Assoc J.-1992, 147 (9) .- 1308 ~ 1309 Aluminum in the diet is associated with pre-eclampsia. Aluminum is a ubiquitous element and therefore determining the factors that affect the bioavailability of aluminum is very important. Phosphates, iron and fluorine are known to reduce aluminum bioavailability while citric acid, flavoring maltol, parathyroid hormone, and dietary vitamin D have the effect of increasing aluminum bioavailability. Someone studied the relationship between aluminum absorption, calcium status, vitamin D intake and parathyroid hormone. Parathyroid stimulates the synthesis of 1,25-dihydroxyvitamin D3 in the kidney, which in turn promotes the intestinal absorption of aluminum. Experiments show that vitamin D supplementation in animals increased the level of aluminum. The accumulation of aluminum in the brain seems to be affected by vitamin D. However, the impact of dietary vitamin D on aluminum is far less than the endogenous 1,25-dihydroxy vitamin D_3. The author believes that if there is further evidence to confirm the dimension
