尧是中华民族早期最有影响的首领人物之一,它在平顶山境内的流传具有几千年的历史发展过程。当时生产力低下的原始社会帝尧时代开创了中华民族的家耕文明时代,开创了人类文明史的禅让制度;开创了华夏文明的文字起源;开创了炎黄两大部落从整体上高度融合的时代,因此,尧文化是中华民族的开端文化之一,曾经在河南省平顶山境内经历了近五千年的流传过程。
