一辆《芝加哥问讯报》的巨型送报货车离开大路,吼叫着朝北面克拉克路大桥开去。它把马路都压得抖动了起来。排气管发出一阵阵尖利的嘶叫声,喷吐着大量一氧化碳,使大气中弥漫了滚滚烟尘。它奔驰向前,车声隆隆。这是分送报纸的第一辆货车。送报员丹尼斯两手抓住一根粗绳,站在车尾的门口。他嗓门沙哑,可是模样挺英俊,他蹙眉斜眼地,表现出一种自命不凡的神气。他对自己被分派在这辆车上工作,是感到不胜荣幸的,因为在当时,别的送报员都还在用马拉车送报哩。
A gigantic delivery van from the Chicago Informational left the parkway and shouted north toward Clarke Road Bridge. It jerked the road up. Exhaust pipe issued a sharp whistling, spit a lot of carbon monoxide, so that the atmosphere filled with rolling smoke. It Mercedes-Benz forward, car rumble. This is the first van to deliver the newspaper. Sender Dennis grabbed a thick rope with both hands, standing at the rear of the car. His hoarse voice, but looks very handsome, his eyebrows squinting, showing a pretentious spirit.
