从1926年起,人们已经用肝脏制剂治疗恶性贫血。至1948年才从肝里提出维生素B_(12)。现在工业上使用“生物合成”方法,培养微生物——如大桿菌(B.megaterium)、酪桿菌(Lactobacillus casei)、灰色链丝菌(Streptomyces griseus)和金色链丝菌(streptomy-ces aureofacieus)等来制取,或从生产链霉素、金霉素等抗生素的菌丝和废液等废物里回收。精制的维生素 B_(12)用为药剂治疗恶性贫血和某些营养缺乏症。粗制品(包括抗生素工来废物)用来作为鸡和猪的辅助饲料,促进生长。维生素 B_(12)在医药和生产上有很大的价值.维生素 B_(12)是很复杂的物质。本刊1954午2卷10期454页报道了它的一般性状。最近,维生素 B_(12)的分子结构式已大体确定(Ⅰ)~(1),其实验式为 C_(63)H_(90)
