建瓯是有着1800多年建县史的县级市,曾为八闽首府建宁府所在地,其民间信仰文化积淀深厚,至今依然十分活跃。建瓯市东南部的玉山镇处于建瓯、古田、屏南三县(市)结合部。该镇最高海拔1611米,最低海拔390米,镇区距市区50多公里;土地总面积约324.47平方公里,森林覆盖率达91.3%;辖12个行政村,65个自然村,1个居委会,人口约2.3万人。当地齐天大圣信仰有着几百年的历史,已形成了一个颇具影响力的齐天大圣信仰圈,是建瓯、古田、屏南三县齐天大圣信众的朝圣之地。
