黄玉雪和汤亭亭是华裔美国文学中里程碑式的两位人物。本文将针对她们的代表作《华女阿五》和《女勇士》中反映出来的共同主题——华裔女性成长进行探讨。这两部作品都关注到华裔女性在新世界(美国)和旧世界(中国)的特殊的成长经历。两位女作家用各自不同的书写方式,将华裔女性生活上遇到的艰辛以及夹在两个世界里的困惑、苦恼予以真实展示,同时也表明不屈不挠、坚韧顽强的“花木兰”精神是使她们得以生存,找到自我的发展道路的力量源泉。
Huang Yuxue and Maxine Ting are two landmark figures in Chinese American literature. This article will discuss the common themes reflected in their masterpieces Hua Hua A Five and The Woman Warrior - the Chinese women’s growth. Both of these works focus on the special growth of Chinese women in the New World (USA) and the Old World (China). The two women writers use their own different ways of writing to show the hardships experienced by Chinese women and the confusion and distress in the two worlds, as well as showing their indomitable and tenacious spirit of “Mulan” It is the source of strength that enables them to survive and find their own way of development.
