有证据表明,大多数企业的执行能力都比他们的适应能力强得多。如何才能兼顾两者?任何企业都面临着两个基本需求:企业必须执行目前的业务活动以应对当前的挑战,并对这些活动进行调整以应对将来的挑战。管理者需要不断协调资金、人员和时间等资源以同时满足短期的执行需求和同等重要的长期投资需求。这种情况的出现引出了一个重要的问题,即是否有可能同时很好地完成执行与适应工作,还是非得在两者间做出权衡?
There is evidence that most companies have far greater ability to execute than they are able to adapt. How can you balance the two? Any business faces two basic needs: Businesses must implement current business activities to meet current challenges and adapt them to meet future challenges. Managers need to constantly coordinate resources such as funding, staffing and time to meet both short-term execution requirements and equally important long-term investment needs. The emergence of this situation raises the important question of whether it is possible to do well both in implementation and adaptation at the same time or whether there is a trade-off between the two.
