The δ-factor is composed of δ-genome and δ-antigen and its outer shell is HBsAg. Its genome is RNA, which is smaller than all other known RNA viruses. Therefore, it is considered as a defect factor. Only HBV infection can assist in the replication of δ-factor. Methods of Detecting a δ-System Fluorescence or enzyme labeling is used in immunohistological methods
