横店,浙江省中部的一个小镇,三面环山,一面靠江。她东枕一座平地兀起的“八面山”,其形酷似日本富士山。传说那里藏有一条给人们带来幸福的金水牛,惟神奇的人用特有方法才能牵出。但在漫长的岁月里,牵“金牛”不过是梦想而已。多年来,这里流传着一首民谣,“开门望见八面山,薄粥三餐度饥寒”。 24年前,由徐文荣带头开办的小丝厂,现已发展成拥有17个行业子集团公司、205家紧密型企业和1200多家半紧密型和松散型企业、3家境外公司的全国特大型乡镇企业--横店集团。淳厚的横店人民称赞徐文荣,感谢他为老百姓牵出了八面山的金水牛。
