这一讲里,我们着重讲实施全面发展教育为什么要贯彻因材施教的精神。我们在第一讲里说过,全面发展的最本质的概念是指一个人的身和心、体力和智力的全面发展。为了社会主义建设,我们必须培养身心全面发展的人。而今天的新中国已把剥削阶级推翻了,基本上消滅了体力劳动和脑力劳动的对立和本质上的差别,所以我们就有可能通过教育培养体力和智力全面发展的人。我们所讲的这些话,如果总括一句,那就是:全面发展教育是受着社会发展到社会主义社会的阶段的客观需要的规律性所制约,是社会主义社会对教育的客观要
In this lecture, we emphasize the implementation of comprehensive development education and why we must implement the spirit of teaching students in accordance with their aptitude. As we said in the first lecture, the most essential concept of comprehensive development is the comprehensive development of one’s body and mind, physical strength and intelligence. In order to build socialism, we must cultivate people who are fully developed physically and mentally. Today’s New China has overturned the exploiting class and basically eliminated the opposition and the essential difference between physical labor and mental work. Therefore, it is possible for us to educate people who have developed all of their physical strength and intelligence. If we say these words, if there is an overall sentence, it is that comprehensive development of education is constrained by the regularity of the objective needs of social development to the stage of socialist society, and is an objective requirement of education in socialist society.
