Myeloperoxidase (MPO) is mainly present in neutrophils and monocytes, and its function is mainly related to antibacterial. This article reports a 38-year-old Portuguese woman with diabetes mellitus and white candida liver abscess. The author of this patient and 13 normal human granulocyte metabolism, phagocytosis and antibacterial properties were measured and compared.
