A new structure of the deuterium-filled thyristor GHT6 has been developed to control the high pulse energy required by many modern devices. This tube controls a peak power of 200 MW and an average power of 150 kW at a withstand voltage of 40 kV and a peak current of 10,000 amperes. These features make it the world's most powerful thyratron, with sufficient capacity for a high-power radar system. The radar sends signals to track targets over long distances, to explore satellites and planetary objects, or to resolve targets at close range. It also meets the requirements of new accelerators commonly used in particle physics and nuclear research.
