一库库杜格牧场在一个幽静的深峡谷底,地处祁连山北麓,是杨哥部落几十代牧人的冬季牧场,是尧熬尔萨满巫师塔尔瓦棋布乾的故乡,是白唇鹿和岩羊的家园。塔尔瓦棋布乾祖籍为哈勒哈(今蒙古国)。18世纪末,他曾在巴斯墩(今青海巴斯墩)草原修建了一座格鲁派寺院,并主持寺院事务。香火最旺盛的时候,有几百名僧人和喇嘛诵经。在青海祁连县野牛沟乡叫油葫芦的地方,有它的古寺遗址,立有碑文,上面雕着藏经,在那山峡谷底里有石块垒砌的玛尼经文。据说,这是塔尔瓦棋布乾为拜佛传经,带领众僧雕刻留下的。
