苏州位于江苏省南部,东临上海,南接浙江,西抱太湖,北依长江,已有2500多年历史,是我国的历史文化名城和重要风景旅游城市,也是一座人口老龄化程度较高的城市。目前,全市60周岁以上的老年人达到了126.8万,占户籍总人口的20.3%,远远高于全省、全国水平。未来,苏州60岁以上的老年人口还将持续增加,2020年、2050年将分别达到202万人和535万人。因此,做好老年人工作,特别是老年教育工作,显得非常重要和紧迫。
Suzhou is located in the southern part of Jiangsu Province, east of Shanghai, south of Zhejiang, Taihu Lake in the west and the Yangtze River in the north. It has a history of over 2500 years and is a famous historical and cultural city and an important tourist city in China. It is also a city with a high population aging . At present, the city’s older people over the age of 60 have reached 1.268 million, accounting for 20.3% of the total population, far higher than the provincial and national levels. In the future, the number of elderly people over the age of 60 in Suzhou will continue to increase, reaching 2,020,000 and 5,350,000 in 2050 respectively. Therefore, it is very important and urgent to do well the work of the elderly, especially the work of education for the elderly.
