通讯员牟发章报道2012年9月19日,由东莞市高盛集团有限公司投资兴建的“中堂国际纸业城”举行奠基仪式。该项目是东莞市实施“一镇一品”的主导产业发展项目,也是中堂镇政府重点扶持和培育的首家纸业交易市场,目标是成为华南最大纸品销售市场。据了解,中堂国际纸业城计划总投资为3亿元,占地面积6.67hm2(100亩),总建筑面积11万m2,计划于2013年底建成使用。中堂镇有关人士表示,目前该镇共有纸品生产加工企业30多家,年产能为400多万t,纸品产业年产值占全镇生产总值的60%以上。但一直以来产业结构以生产制造为主,产业链短。

Zhongtang town official said that at present the town a total of more than 30 paper production and processing enterprises, with an annual capacity of more than 400 million t, the annual output value of the paper industry accounts for more than 60% of the town’s GDP. However, the industrial structure has always been mainly manufacturing, and the industrial chain is short.
