烯类单体如乙烯,α-烯烃、乙烯基单体等和双烯类单体如丁二烯、异戊二烯等的自由基聚合和配位聚合反应的研究,不仅在加聚反应理论方面而且在通用高分子的生产方面占有重要地位。本项目将此类聚合反应理论提高到较高的分子设计水平,实现控制聚合反应及产物结构的目的,为通用高分子的聚合反应与产品优质化提供理论依据和基本数据。国家自然科学基金委员会于1987年把“烯类、双烯类聚合反应研究——机理、动力学及产物结构调节”列为重大项目,由冯新德,沈家骢教授主持。项目内容包括7个子课题,经6个大学和中国科学院1个研究所,历时5年的研究已圆满完成任务,并于1992年4月底通过验收。
