n “,”Objective:To compare the effects of three anesthesia protocols in rabbit neurointerventional surgery. Methods:Eighteen New Zealand white rabbits were randomized into groups A, B, and C (n n=6 each) and all underwent stenting of the right internal carotid artery. Groups A and B were anesthetized with bolus of 2% and 1% pentobarbital sodium via the marginal ear vein, respectively, while group C was anesthetized by bolus of Zoletiln ?50 via marginal ear vein, hypodermic butorphanol combined with inhaled sevoflurane. The dosage of anesthetics, induction and maintenance time of anesthesia, anesthesia score and anesthesia-related complications were recorded in the three groups.n Results:The mean time of neurointerventional surgery in all experimental rabbits was (71.9±10.2) min. The first dose, total dose, time to anesthesia, recovery time and total duration of anesthesia were more favorable in group C than those in groups A and B (all n P<0.05) . The anesthesia scores in groups A, B, and C were (3.8±2.3) , (2.5±1.0) , and (1.0±0.6) points respectively during the induction, and were (3.7±2.6) , (1.7±1.9) , and (0.3±0.5) points respectively during the maintenance, with statistically significant differences among groups (alln P0.05) ; while the anesthesia scores during induction and maintenance in group C were significantly lower compared with group A (alln P<0.05) . In the three groups of experimental rabbits, stable vital signs were maintained and proper anesthesia depth was secured during the operation. In groups A, B, and C, there were 7, 3 and 2 complication events, respectively. Except for one experimental rabbit in group C suffering respiratory depression, no other complications such as nystagmus and irritation that affect surgical process occurred during anesthesia.n Conclusion:Combined anesthesia using Zoletiln ?50 for neurointerventional surgery in New Zealand white rabbits leads to better anesthesia effect compared with single use of pentobarbital, and is also with fewer complications.n
