This thesis makes a tentative analysis on the narrative characteristics of The Great Gatsby by Fitzgerald, mainly on the employment of narrators. As the spokesman of the Jazz Age and one of the most representative writers in the “Lost Generation”, Fitzgerald adopts excellent narrative technique in The Great Gatsby and employs his work as a mirror reflecting the pursuit and dreams of the American people as well as the frustration of their illusion.
