全国设计大师、北京市建筑设计究院原总建筑师张镈大师于１９９９年７月１日仙逝，这是中国当代建筑界的损失。张镈大师是一本读不完的书，之所以这样认识，是因为张总身上集中了一代大师的风范，如创作哲学、设计手法、表现技法等。成为大师，一般有两项条件，既有造诣，又要被尊崇；所以大师的存在，便绝不仅仅是个体的价值，而代表着一种社会学意义的存在。之所以发表此文，是因为大师的文字记录了人类的部分“灵魂”史，经典更是大师们的精神所在，因此对建筑大师们与其经典的阅读，是需要原作及读者共同品味的。作为编者，十分希望有更多的好作品被推荐。
National Master Planner, former chief architect of Beijing Institute of Architectural Design, passed away on July 1, 1999, which is a loss for the contemporary Chinese architecture industry. Master Zhang 是 is a book that can not be read. The reason for this is that Zhang generalizes the demeanor of a generation of masters, such as creative philosophy, design techniques, performance techniques and so on. As a master, there are generally two conditions, both accomplished and respected; therefore, the existence of the master is by no means an individual value, but rather represents the existence of a sociological significance. The reason why this article is published is because the master’s writing recorded the history of human’s part of “soul”. The classic is the spirit of the masters. Therefore, it is necessary for the masters of architecture and their classic reading to taste the original works together with the readers. As an editor, I really hope that more good works will be recommended.
