长沙、株洲、湘潭在湖南省经济地域中所处地位特殊,具有一定的工业发展优势,有条件也有必要朝工业集团化、一体化的方向发展。这既是我省工业长足发展的客观需要,也是长株潭的明智抉择。实现长株潭工业一体化,一是有利于优化资源配置,培植支柱产业、拳头产品,发挥区域优势和整体功能。在计划经济体制下,三市经济处于封闭式的自我循环之中,重复发展,结构趋同现象十分突出。如占全市工业前四位的,长沙为机电、食品、纺织、化工;株洲为冶金、化工、机电、建材;湘潭为机电、纺织、冶金、化工,优势行业大多是雷同
Changsha, Zhuzhou and Xiangtan are in a special position in the economic region of Hunan Province. They have certain advantages in industrial development. It is also necessary to develop in the direction of industrial grouping and integration. This is not only an objective requirement for the long-term development of the industry in our province, but also a wise choice for Changsha, Zhuzhou and Xiangtan. Under the planned economy system, the three cities’ economies are in a closed self-recycling cycle. Repeated development has led to a remarkable phenomenon of structural convergence. As the top four in the city’s industry, Changsha is an electromechanical, food, textile, and chemical industry; Zhuzhou is a metallurgical, chemical, electromechanical, and building material; Xiangtan is an electromechanical, textile, metallurgical, and chemical industry; most of the advantageous industries are similar.
