中国和加拿大两国之间一直有着良好的贸易关系。从50年代末开始,中国就从加拿大大量进口小麦。1961年,中国和加拿大签定了小麦协定。自1970年10月中加两国建交以来,双边经贸合作发展迅速。1970年两国建交时,双边贸易额只有1.55亿美元,1978年为5.4亿美元,1988年增长到18.25亿美元。1993年,中加双边贸易总额达25.73亿美元,相当于1970年两国建交时的16.6倍,其中,中国出口11.98亿美元,中国进口13.75亿美元。中加经贸合作进入了新时代。
There has been good trade relations between China and Canada. Since the late 1950s, China has imported large quantities of wheat from Canada. In 1961, China and Canada signed a wheat agreement. Since the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Canada in October 1970, bilateral economic and trade cooperation has developed rapidly. When the two countries established diplomatic relations in 1970, bilateral trade volume was only 155 million U.S. dollars, 5.4 billion U.S. dollars in 1978, and 1.825 billion U.S. dollars in 1988. In 1993, the bilateral trade volume between China and Canada amounted to 2.573 billion U.S. dollars, which is equivalent to 16.6 times when the two countries established diplomatic relations in 1970. Among them, China exported 1.198 billion U.S. dollars and China imported 1.375 billion U.S. dollars. China-Canada economic and trade cooperation has entered a new era.
