The first test tube babies to be born in China saw the light of day at the No. 3 Clinical Hospital of Beijing Medical University at 8:56 a.m. on March 10, 1988. This breakthrough in reproductive science in China was thanks to Professor Zhang Lizhu whose fame has spread such since that date that her schedule for making test tube babies now stretches until the year 2001.
