102万平方公里的土地,3.61亿的人口,晋豫鄂皖湘赣中部六省,承东启西,接南进北,是神州大地的心腹之地。中部依靠全国8.8%的土地,承载全国25.7%的人口,创造全国18.22%的G DP,在中国地域分工中扮演着重要角色。2004年3月,中国总理温家宝在政府工作报告中,首次明确提出“促进中部地区崛起”,引起中部省份极大关注。12月初,中央经济工作会议再次提到“促进中部地区崛起”。这表明,中国政府十分注重区域经济协调发展,也为中部崛起勾勒了美丽画卷。2005年3月5日,温家宝指出,加快中部地区发展是区域协调发展的主要方面。
102 million square kilometers of land, 361 million people in the six provinces of central and western Hunan, Hubei and Anhui provinces, east to west, then south into the north, is the confidante of the land of China. Central China relies on 8.8% of the country’s land, carrying 25.7% of the country’s population and creating 18.22% of GDP nationwide, playing an important role in the division of labor in China. In March 2004, in his government work report, Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao first made it clear for the first time “promoting the rise of the central region”, arousing great concern in the central provinces. In early December, the Central Economic Work Conference once again mentioned “promoting the rise of the central region.” This shows that the Chinese government places great emphasis on the coordinated development of regional economy and also outlined a beautiful picture for the rise of Central China. On March 5, 2005, Premier Wen Jiabao pointed out: Accelerating the development of the central region is a major aspect of the coordinated regional development.
