上海是为数不多的几个在电影中被“署名”的内地城市中唯一拥有城市传记的城市,《长恨歌》、《茉莉花开》和《海上传奇》都以较长的历史跨度,表现了对上海性,即中国现代性的不同理解:即隐而未断的消费主义的畸形现代性、发生了革命性断裂的系谱现代性和多元并置的现代性,它们背后的三种历史观共同颠覆了主流的发展主义的历史观。文章还从影片借女性主人公表征上海性得出上海的女性性别,并把这一点归于现代社会女性地位的提高和消费主义对女性身体的消费这双重原因。文章特别分析了三部影片中女性对生育的态度,分析了它背后体现的上海性的独特性和上海女性作为现实主义者的最大特征。
