湖南师范大学的前身是国立师范学院。1938年10建院,同时建立了图书馆,她是我国高等师范院校最早的图书馆之一,至今已有五十年的历史。一、草创奠基(1938～1949年) 1.创业蓝田 1937年7月7日,日本帝国主义侵华战争全面爆发。这场罪恶的战争给中国人民带来了沉重的灾难,中国文化教育事业倍受摧残,高校图书馆事业处于极端萎缩与停滞的困境之中。而我校图书馆却在战时战地之中痛苦诞生。
