New developments include geochemical logging tools, over and under bit sensors, slim bore NMR and advanced mud logging and gas extraction techniques. With the increasing costs of wells, especially offshore oil wells, and the expanding requirements for the development of horizontal wells in unconventional reservoirs, there have been special demands that the overall objective of logging and formation evaluation is to enhance economic benefits derived from drilling and well driving For, completion design and mining efficiency.
