Comment on advanced design techniques for infrared imaging seekers used in tactical missiles that are scheduled for 2010-2020. The progress made in the key technologies of tactical missile systems is outlined. This information provides a forecast of the technical improvements to the missile subsystem (segment) to provide a reasonable missile configuration within a given time frame. Although this paper outlines the state of the art of missile subsystems including fuses, warheads, flight controls, and engines, it focuses on seeker and acquisition and tracking algorithms. The seeker subsystem includes a hood, an optical system, a detector, a stabilization system, a readout line, an A / D conversion, and a signal processor. This study examines the strengths and weaknesses of current designs to identify key areas of technology necessary to improve design, as well as to comment on and forecast its development. Some key parameters that describe the performance of each subsystem are identified and are closely related to the effectiveness of the components and the entire missile system. As part of the study, the design issues that describe advanced configuration capabilities have been written and used to point out the validity of future designs that will be applied to the assumptions of the two missile designs for 2010-2020, assuming hardware and software configurations.
