Kähtökel Kollwitz (1867-1945), formerly known as Kaethe Schmidt, a German-born painter and sculptor from the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Her style is rough and grim, realistic and concise, full of infinite tension. Her tempering and mastery of the language of printmaking has given her an immortal spiritual connotation.
